Some appointments require nurse assistance and can't be booked online. Please call the clinic so we can find a suitable time for you that your doctor and nurse are available for you.
All consultations are by appointment unless there is an emergency in which case acute injuries/ illness are given priority.
Our practice is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all medical information and records in accordance with best practice guidelines. All communication from the doctors must be discussed in an arranged clinical appointment, unless at the discretion of the doctor. Our practice will not send emails containing personal information. A full copy of our Privacy Policy is available in the Forms and Documents tab below.
A consultation with the Doctor is required for all prescriptions and referrals.
Scripts
Please make regular appointments if you have ongoing conditions or medications. In unavoidable circumstances Doctors may provide a repeat referral however this is done at the Doctor's discretion and may attract a fee.
Referrals
Referrals will not be provided from a phone request. If your GP requires you to engage outside health care they will provide sufficient information (referral letter) to plan and facilitate optimal patient care. Please treat these as you would other legal documents and remember to take them along to your specialist appointment or you may be charged increased fees. It is illegal to backdate a referral.
Tests ordered by our doctor require a follow up appointment to discuss results and plan further treatment. Our Reception staff are not qualified to give any medical advice. You may be transferred to the Practice nurse who will give results over the phone if specifically directed by the doctor for that given issue please discuss the plan with your doctor at each consultation.
Seven Hills Family Doctors uses a text message reminder system sent via HOTdoc App for upcoming appointments. These are usually sent 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please confirm your appointment by replying to the SMS or calling the practice to reschedule ASAP. Advise the reception staff if you do not wish to receive these reminders. Although we may remind you to make follow up or recall appointments, please still take responsibility for your family's healthcare. Should you be worried you may lose track of your families vaccinations we suggest using the Vaccidate App available for download at: vaccinate.initiatives.qld.gov.au
Seven Hills Family Doctors is a mixed billing practice. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. We bulk bill patients 5 years and under (weekdays only) & DVA patients. A discount is offered for patients with a health care card, pensioner concession card and patients 6 - 16 years during normal business hours Monday to Friday. Other patients are charged in accordance with our fee schedule or at the doctors discretion.
On Saturdays, all patients will be privately billed. Our billing policy and an up-to-date copy of our schedule of fees is located in the waiting room. Patients can pay for consults with cash, EFTPOS or major credit cards. The practice will submit a Medicare claim immediately, most patients can expect the refund instantly into a EFTPOS card or within 1-2 days (provided their bank details are registered with Medicare Australia).
